Disability & Life: Lincoln Financial & MetLife


The following benefits provide you and your family with financial security should you become unable to work due to an unforeseen illness or accident, or in the event of your death:

  • Short-Term Disability (STD): Tribune Publishing provides an STD benefit of 100% of pay for the first four weeks of leave and 40% of pay following four weeks, at no cost to you. Buy-up options are available.
  • Long-Term Disability (LTD): You may purchase LTD coverage at 60% of pay up to a monthly benefit of $15,000
  • Group Life: Tribune Publishing provides a benefit of 1x your annual salary at no cost to you. Life insurance coverage also includes a will preparation services and funeral planning benefit and Grief Counseling through MetLife.
  • Supplemental Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D): You may purchase additional life and AD&D coverage for yourself and your dependents at group rates.

New York Disability and Paid Family Leave

New Jersey Disability and Paid Family Leave

  • New Jersey Disability Private Plan
  • New Jersey PFL is administered by the state and not through Liberty Mutual.  To file for PFL through the state, please go to the state website at New Jersey Paid Family Leave.  It is the employee’s responsibility to apply and coordinate directly with the state for PFL.  FMLA is administered through Liberty Mutual.  You will need to contact Liberty Mutual for the FMLA and the state for the PFL.
